Inspiring Films!

Well, I thought of writing this because I was really really inspired, and was in a very happy and positive mood, so I felt I should get my feelings and thoughts out, getting a chance to share them with you guys, and getting to think more - in depth - about those thoughts and feelings.

Actually what really inspired me were some movies I watched recently... The first of those was SAW 4. I had already watched SAW 1, and SAW 2, and found out that the whole series is more or less talking about the same main idea, which is “CHERISHING YOUR LIFE”… I thought that was REALLY deep… I started thinking about how people sometimes go through this life, not knowing what they’re doing, or why they’re even here... They're born, go to school, go to college, go to work, get married, have kids, get grandchildren, and eventually die! They die having had no clear goal or reason for their existence in this life… That’s not how I want to live my life… DEFINITELY NOT! I do cherish my existence in this world, and I’m determined to do something BIG isA :)

Actually, this wasn’t the only idea that inspired me in the movie… Those are some other thoughts I got... Here we go:

** People are ALL connected, one way or another! What you send out into someone’s life will definitely come back into yours…

** If 2 people are trapped in a room, one is blind and the other is deaf, but both can help each other out of the room, how would they communicate?

** Sometimes, a person can not really do anything but act CRUELY with you, although they’re not really like that all the time… Maybe they’re going through a bad day… So, NEVER judge anyone according to your first impression about them!

** Time is an illusion, it’s only what we do in it that makes it important…

** Sometimes, we look at things only from our own perspective, so we view others as really bad people, but we never try to put ourselves in their shoes, and think why they might be acting in that way…

** Sometimes you’re overwhelmed with trying to stop your loved ones from taking wrong decisions, to the extent that you forget about your own life, and overlook other important people in your life… And sometimes being overwhelmed to help those people turns oppositely, and harms them instead…

** People DO change! To the better or to the worse, it doesn’t matter… What matters is; the DO change!

** In real life, you can never learn the lesson well, before you get involved in the experience first, the harder it is, the better u learn the lesson!

** People are not always like what they seem… Sometimes they seem so sweet and kind, although they’re really bad, and vice versa…

** Sometimes, 2 MINUTES is REALLY TOO MUCH TIME! And sometimes 2 seconds can make a difference in saving someone’s life, or terminating it!

** Sometimes you have to let go, and forget things, because not everything has a clear or reasonable explanation…

** Sometimes you need to listen to what is EXACTLY said to you (not what you understand from it), and failing to do so, makes you fall into error. Your observational skills have to increase.

** Sometimes you should let others take their decisions on their own, and save themselves, because if you take their decisions for them, you might be unintentionally harming them.

Now, to the other movie; Patch Adams… It was about a man, who really wanted to make a difference… a REAL difference… To help people around him… So he chose to study medicine to help heal the pains of others… And throughout the movie, we get to see how he changes the idea of the heartless doctor, who only does his job without sympathy and sometimes without even smiling! He showed us a different side of a doctor, the side that should be existent in every person's life, the humanistic side… The side that is not attained by studying, but by really CARING about others and addressing their psychological personalities…

This film really inspired me a lot… Maybe because I identified with the hero of the film (Robin Williams), and I thought I shared a lot of beliefs with him… He wanted to help others, he thought everyone around him was good, and only saw the positive side in people… He believed that everyone really needed help, without any discrimination… And most importantly, he was SURE he would do something… He had a dream, convinced others, and carried it out right away… He really BELIEVED in his dream, and that was why he achieved it at the end! It was FANTASTIC!! And I can NEVER get enough of this movie! I’ve watched it 5 times already, and each time it inspires me even more. I start seeing new things and understanding new messages that are being sent…

Last but not least, the film “Pay it Forward”… It was about a young boy who was assigned to do a project that would change the world… So the young boy, Trevor, thought of a new FANTASTIC idea… He decided to perform three random acts of kindness, to three different people... However, those actions have to be something that really helps those people… Something they can’t do on their own… And when he helps them, each one of those three would be asked to help three other people… Making a HUGE tree of random acts of kindness, at the end! :) AWESOME idea! :) Actually, what happened then was that he tried to help three people, but failed to help all three of them… or at least "thought" he failed… However, towards the end of the movie, we found out that this idea of his had turned into a huge movement in different countries, outside his own country even! Can you believe it?!! He wanted to change the world, and worked hard to change the lives of only three people around him to the better, and WOOOOOOSH, his idea turned into a MOVEMENT! And he affected people even outside his country, people whom he never knew even existed! At the end, he was killed by a young kid, while he was helping another young boy who was being bullied by some older kids…

What inspired me the most was the idea! The idea of helping others, and starting a huge tree of acts of kindness… And while he actually thought he had failed, and forgot all about it, his idea was actually spreading among people he never knew! :)

This is kind of what I would like to do in my life… I want to be useful to others… I want to help… To be proactive and positive… I WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
